Wade Watts is a normal teenager. He goes to school, hangs out with friends, plays games, but all of it is inside the OASIS. The OASIS is a virtual world invented to find refugee from the poor dirty real world. The theme of the book is to trust your friends and to never give up. Wade has a few friends inside the OASIS and they will all try to find the hidden keys and gates to find an Easter egg (a hidden prize). Other people are also trying to find the keys and gates to be first.
